Abstract
Purpose: The present work is devoted to the green and probe sonication-based fabrication of AgNPs using the leaves extract of P. guajava. Materials and Methods: Various analytical techniques have been used to characterize the synthesized AgNPs, which examine significant chemical and physical characteristics of AgNPs. Results: The green synthesized AgNPs were used against a breast cancer cell line (MCF-7). The FTIR study indicates the presence of O-H, C=O, C=C, and C-Ag bonds on the surface of AgNPs. The XRD peaks of AgNPs were found to be 27.8º, 32.2º, 38.1º, 44.4º, 45.6º, 57.1º, 64.5º, and 77.9º respectively. The MTT assay of AgNPs showed increased cytotoxicity against MCF-7 cell lines with the half maximal inhibitory concentration of 24.44 µg/ mL. Conclusion: The findings suggest that AgNPs synthesized from P. guajava leaves exhibit significant anticancer activity against MCF-7 cell lines, highlighting their potential for therapeutic applications.
